ABC_OKC 4.5.9 (ABC459_OKC_final0679) Maintenance release 4.5.9 for ABC450_OKC_final0669 Warning : Don't install ABC_OKC and ABC or LH-ABC in the same directory. If the files mfc90.dll, msvcr90.dll and msvcp90.dll are not in your windows\system32 directory ABC_OKC will not start and show some cryptic messages about configuration. So check your windows\system32 directory and if necessary get the missing dlls from my MissingDLLs folder and drop them into this directory and everything should be fine. ======================================================================================== Bugs fixed for this release ======================================================================================== - In the Find Torrents in List window, the Enter key which is used to trigger the Find button, was filtered out when the focus was in the result list (WX oddity ?). The Enter key did not work either just after restoring the window from minimized state. - A bug in the main scheduler (very rarely triggered) that could on-hold/queue a running torrent becoming active because of a wrong dependency on the max total number of working/seeding/running torrents (set in Preferences/Activity), whereas only the number of active torrents was concerned. ======================================================================================== New features and improvements for this release ======================================================================================== - In the Find Torrents in List window, holdind down the shift key while clicking on the Find button (or pressing the Enter key) strips all non alphanumerical characters (accented characters included) from strings in the search fields before performing the search (The search fields are not modified). If you trigger the search with the arrows of the OR mode spinboxes (with the mouse wheel or the Ctrl key or a mouse right click), the shift key may also be used. - The default max number of connections is now set to 10 peers. This provides a lower CPU load, to start more seeds and downloads, without notably slowing down connections. You can always change it to your like in Preferences/"Advanced Settings". - Lower CPU load with fixes and improvements in the algo to determine what piece must be requested from peers. - In all lists where multi-selection is possible, holding down the control key when clicking on an item and then drag the mouse over the list now inverts the selection for the items dragged over (as a Control + single click does over a single item). Previously this action was always selecting items. ** Note about multi-selecting in WX list objects used in ABC_OKC ** This WX list control has a default muti-selecting tool (elastic box) triggered by a left click with dragging over the items you want to select ; this tool is not documented and has the following limitations, which explains why I developed my own tool for multi-selecting : It seems that the default tool can only be triggered : -1- in the first column of a list, -2- if the list item is not empty, -3- when you left click on the empty space at the right or the left of the string of an item. A way to disable this default behaviour does not seem to exist. So in some particuliar very rare cases (when conditions 1, 2 and 3 are filled), you may trigger this tool instead of my own tool. This is not a bug. To be sure to always trigger my tool for multi-selecting, just always click on the string inside the list item if you click in the first column. ======================================================================================== Minor improvements for this release ======================================================================================== - None ======================================================================================== About magnet links that do not load from Internet browser with Windows XP : In Windows XP you may have problems with magnets with a url length over ~2050 characters (crazy number of trackers put in the url...), when using in your browser the internal windows association for magnet urls with your bittorrent client (not only ABC_OKC). The problem comes from the limit for the length of the command line in Windows XP. Moreover if this limit is reached, Windows XP does not truncate the command line but just outputs an error message without starting the command. More recent Windows have a higher limit for the length of the command line. With Windows XP nothing can be done in the bittorrent client. You must try other ways of getting the torrent : - download or copy the magnet into the clipboard and use the clipboard scanner or paste it into "Add torrent from URL or info_hash" - If it's a public torrent and you have access to the info_hash, do the same with this info_hash - get the torrent file directly Have fun !!
